The Professional Bull Riders made another stand this weekend by beating the odds and competing. This weekend's platform was hosted in Okeechobee, Florida.
Over the last several weeks the PBR has spent their share of time in Florida, the state has supplied a resource where the PBR can host events and allow fans to be a part of the action.
In Okeechobee night one was owned by Cole Melancon who topped Soup in a Group of Dakota Rodeo/Chad Berger/Clay Struve/Wilks Ranch for 88.5 points. The round win is 1 of three on the year for Melancon who is already making his impact on the 2021 season.

Round two saw a familiar name lay claim to the spotlight and a career highlight. Colten Fritzlan carried his monumental performance at the National Finals rodeo into his first performance on the PBR Unleash the Beast Tour. As a rookie on tour, Fritzlan may have been under everyone’s radar but many bull riding fans knew he had what it took to make an impact. In round 1 Fritzlan went 86.5 to put himself in the running for day 2. On the second day, Fritzlan managed Two Socks (Dakota Rodeo/Chad Berger/Clay Struve) for 86.75 points taking him into the final round within striking distance of the top spot. Putting the cap on the weekend Fritzlan teamed up with Zero Time (Paradigm Bull Company) for 87 points.
Coming in right behind Fritzlan was World Champion Cooper Davis who continues to make it known that he has a second title on his mind.

In the championship round, Davis showed his grit by finishing the ride hanging on the side of his bull just long enough to make the 8 seconds. The weekend performance of 3 for 3 Davis sits in the number 1 in the world with a slight edge over number 2 Junior Patrick Souza by 71 points.
Another notable performance came from Derek Kolbaba who selected Diddy Wa Diddy of (Cord McCoy/Bill McCarty) for the short round. Kolbaba was able to grit out the 8 seconds and collect his first 90-point ride of 2021. Diddy Wa Diddy came to Florida via a sale that had Andrews Rodeo sell to McCoy after the Diddy Wa Diddy had an impressive performance at the National Finals Rodeo. In this bull’s short appearance in the PBR, he has already made a statement in his first out. Diddy Wa Diddy will leave Florida tied with Smooth Operator for the Yeti Built for the Wild Bull of the event, with both recording 46-point bull scores.
Next weekend the top bull riders of the PBR take a break from the action and reset for their next appearance which happens in historic Del Rio Texas for the PBR Built Ford Tough Invitational. Wil Fritzlan makes another stand, will Davis continue his run? In a short few weeks, we will see!
