The NFR has officially started here in Texas! It looks and feels a bit different this year, but the end goal is still the same for all competitors! Have some of their best runs and get that gold buckle!

First time NFR qualifier and Waverly, Kansas cowboy, Jesse Pope, finishes the first round tied for second place in the bareback riding. Pope went 87 on The Cervi Brothers' "William Wallace" winning $18,192. Congrats to this Kansas cowboy and best of luck in the upcoming rounds!

Pope is now sitting 8th in the world and $55,123.06 behind 1st place Tim O'Connell. Although Pope is a ways out from 1st in the world, a few good rides could possibly change that!

Check back daily for more recaps from the National Finals Rodeo!
