Kaique Pacheco, also known as, “Ice Man”, dominated the Pendleton Whisky Invitational in south Florida this weekend. Pacheco is from Itatiba, Brazil and is also the 2018 Professional Bull Rider (PBR) World Champion. He went a perfect 3-for-3 for rides throughout the weekend.
This weekend the PBR had placed their new changes for the 2021 season. The change consisted of adding daily winners through adding new championship rounds. It allowed the opportunity for athletes to ride several bulls over the course of the PBR season.
Pacheco scored an 88-point ride in Round 1 on the bull, Skeeter Peter. The score he received set him in fourth place for the championship on Sunday. For Round 2, Pacheco drew Rocket Man for another fourth-place finish and a score of 84.25 points. The last round allowed Pacheco to pick his poison and he drew Marquis Metal Works Bill the Butcher. He scored a 89.75 which gave him his 15th career win at the elite Unleash the Beast (UTB) level, as well as his first win of the 2021 season.

Pacheco was the only contestant to get a perfect 3-for-3 for the weekend. He won a total of $30,200.72 and received a total of 116 world points. He now sits as the number three rider in the world standings.
With Pacheco taking the spotlight of the weekend, Cody Teel from College Station, Texas picked up his first top-3 finish. Teel ended the weekend with a 2-for-3 finish. Buckle Bunny allowed Teel to score a 86.25 in Round 1. While, Why Hell Ya allowed Teel to score a 82.75 in Round 2.
Teel drafted second for the championship round and chose Short Night for the final round. Short Night gave Teel a ride for his money, and Teel walked away with a no score.
Teel ended the weekend with winnings of $12,476.69 and 61.5 world points. He ended the weekend in number six for the world standings.
Another Brazilian took the top three, Marco Equchi. He finished as third after riding Burn Out in Round 1 with a score of 85 points. While, Equchi also scored a 82.75 point ride on Sambuca. Round three threw him for a loop on CopperPoint Swagger, as he received a no score. He received 45.5 world points for the weekend.
Several other athletes put in competitive rides on some extremely tough bulls.
Red Clark and Zero Time went half on the YETI “Built for the Wild” Bull of the Event honor. They both received a 45.5-point performance in the championship round.
Smooth Operator finally met his match as Ezekiel Mitchell of Texas made a 93-point ride. Smooth Operator is a defending two-time World Champion.

The weekend was filled with several huge accomplishments and records. The athletes knew what was on the line and what they needed to do to get to the top.
The PBR Unleash the Best: American Roots Edition will be back in Okeechobee, Florida with Round 1 starting on Saturday, January 30th
